The French team Team BDS is the new world champion in Rocket League. The team based in Switzerland won the World Cup final of the Rocket League Championship Series in Fort Worth, Texas against G2 Esports with 4:1 (2:1, 3:2, 1:0, 1:2, 3:0).

After the final, the players cried with joy, especially with coach Théo "Mew" Ponzoni, the tears rolled over the whole trophy ceremony. "The fact that we are world champions means that we have made good decisions," Mew said in the tournament stream. "I am very happy about it." Around 13,000 people watched the final in the arena.

BDS had brought Enzo "Seikoo" Grondheim into the team in April and was initially unable to build on previous successes. At the World Cup, however, the French showed their class: only against Karmine Corp it was a 4-3 loss in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, BDS won 4-2 against Team Furia.

In addition to the World Cup title, Seikoo received the award as the most valuable player (MVP) of the tournament. Teammate Evan "M0nkey M00n" Rogez was named best defensive player, while Reed "Chicago" Wilen was named best offensive player.
