BIG has left the first chance to qualify for the upcoming "Counter-Strike: Global Offensive" major in Rio. After two opening victories, the team lost to Ence in the ESL Road to Rio.

Despite the absence of Josef "faveN" Baumann due to illness, BIG made a good start to the tournament. With Academy player Elias "s1n" Stein as a replacement, the team even beat the newly minted ESL Pro League champion Team Vitality. The only thing missing for the qualification for the major is a victory, which should not yet succeed against Ence. The Finnish organization confidently prevailed with a score of 2:0 and got one of the first starting places.

Sprout also narrowly missed out on quick qualifying. The team even took a card from the defending champion FaZe, but lost the series at the end with a score of 1: 2. With two wins and one loss, Sprout still has a good chance of progressing in the A-Bracket, while in the B-Bracket BIG and Mouz could meet with the same stand. In addition to Ence and FaZe, only Natus Vincere and ninjas in pajamas have been at the Major so far.
