G2 Esports is back on track for success in the League of Legends league. In the important duel against Rogue, the defending champion broke the opponent's eight-game winning streak, but is still a little away from the top of the table.

"This week was very important for us because we lost four games last time, so it was good to end the losing streak," G2 jungler Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski said in an interview after the game. "For the playoff ranking, the victory against Rogue is particularly important.»

Important victory for G2 against Rogue

After G2 had also lost to outsiders such as SK or Misfits in recent weeks, the team ended its own losing streak against Astralis the day before. Also in the top duel against Rogue, G2 looked much more confident again and secured a perfect week.

There was no tension in the "Match of the Week", as Excel handled the actual title contender Fnatic in just 27 minutes. While Fnatic has now been unsuccessful for four games and has to fight for the playoffs, Excel remains the worst pursuer of the top duo at the front.

Regular Season Winner Goes to Worlds

The former champion MAD Lions also continues to show good form, winning against Team Vitality and SK Gaming in the fifth game week. The team is thus moving up to Rogue at the top of the table, which is especially important this season: since the World Cup place of the canceled Russian league LCL went to Europe, the winner of the regular season qualifies for the tournament even before the playoffs.
