Surprise success: Rogue is unbeaten at the League of Legends World Championship after the first round of the group stage. Fnatic is also in a good position, but G2 Esports is struggling in its group.

Rogue has so far confidently prevailed in his group against the Vietnamese champion GAM Esports and DRX from Korea. The European champion also showed a convincing performance against the clearly favored top esports from China and secures the lead in Group C.

Fnatic is also doing well and is currently in Group A on a par with world champion Edward Gaming and T1 from Korea. Against T1, Fnatic managed a surprise victory and had to admit defeat against EDG first. G2, as the third LEC representative, is having a harder time: so far, it has only been enough to win over Evil Geniuses, against the Chinese JDG and Damwon from Korea, G2 pulled the shorter one and currently has to worry about getting into the knockout round.

So far, things are not going according to plan for the North American teams at the World Cup on home soil: EG, Cloud9 and 100 Thieves remain without a win in the group stage.
