Team Spirit has reached the final of the Dota 2 Arlington Major PSG.LGD was beaten 3-1. The best-of-five was a new edition of the last World Cup final, in which the Russian team was also able to prevail against the Chinese.

"Team Spirit are LAN beasts, they weren't even the best in Eastern Europe when it came to online games. But get them on a stage in a best-of-five and they'll beat any opponent," analyst David "Godz" Parker said after the finale. "I want to see a rematch of these two teams at the Dota 2 World Cup.»

Dota 2: Team Spirit beats top favorite

Despite the history that the two finalists had with each other, PSG was considered.LGD is the favorite in the tournament. The Chinese team lost only two points and no series on the way to the final. Still in the semifinals of the Upper Bracket saw Team Spirit against PSG.LGD lost without a chance and lost with 2:0.

In the final, PSG won.LGD the first game, which for some analysts already meant the decision. However, a 75-minute game marathon, in which Spirit caught up a big gap and eventually won, was the turning point. The initiative seemed to have switched to Spirit's side, the team also won the following two matches significantly.

Last DPC event before the TI

With the end of the last Dota Pro Circuit event of the season, the focus is now on the Dota 2 World Cup, which will take place in Singapore in October. Twelve teams, including the European teams OG, Tundra Esports and Gaimin Gladiators, have already qualified. Eight more will follow through regional qualifiers.
