Three teams, three games, three bankruptcies: the quarterfinals of the Valorant World Championship were disappointing from a European point of view. For the professionals from Europe it is now in the Lower Bracket.

After Fnatic, Team Liquid and FunPlus Phoenix had only qualified bumpy for the knockout round, the cold shower followed in the Upper Bracket quarterfinals. They all succumbed to their opponents.

The narrowest defeat was conceded by the Dutch e-sports organization Team Liquid. In the duel with the North Americans of OpTic Gaming, the Valorant pros were defeated 1:2. Things were clearer in the second European-North American quarterfinal duel: Fnatic had to admit defeat with 0: 2 against XSET.

"Sorry guys, it wasn't our day," Fnatic pro James "Mistic" Orfila apologized on Twitter after the bankruptcy - and looked straight ahead: "We'll show you tomorrow against Team Liquid what's really in us.»

However, because the tournament is played in a double-elimination format, both teams still have a chance of winning the World Cup title. At least until the next game. In the first round in the Lower Bracket, the teams from Europe will meet.

Also in the Lower bracket is FunPlus Phoenix. In the quarterfinal duel with the South Korean e-athletes of DRX, the team conceded a 2-0 defeat. Their first opponent in the losing branch of the tournament is the Argentine-Chilean team of the e-sports organization Leviatán.
